Beano’s Cabin Wedding – Megan and Nathan

A Whimsical Wedding at Beano’s Cabin

Megan and Nathan hosted a colorful and tasteful Beano’s Cabin wedding in Beaver Creek, Colorado. The bright floral palette elevated the reception space inside Beano’s Cabin and brought the beauty of Colorado’s wildflowers indoors. The couple wanted to maintain a guest-focused atmosphere and included personalized details like custom wooden name cards and a pack of wildflower seeds for each person to bring home with them. From the design board to the wedding day, it was a treat for our team to be a part of the vision and execution of this meaningful day!

We reached out to Megan after the wedding to get her perspective and hear about her favorite parts. Here’s what she had to say!

How did you meet Nathan?

Nathan and I met on hinge in 2019. We chatted for months due to busy travel schedules and finally went on a first date at a local Atlanta coffee shop the weekend before Christmas.

How did Nathan pop the question?

Nathan said he had a work Christmas party at their NYC office on a weekend in December. We both love the city and I can’t resist a weekend in the city so I was immediately in to go. I went a few days early and stayed with a girlfriend there. On Friday night, I got ready and went to meet him at the Airbnb he rented. Little did I know the whole thing was staged and he instead proposed on the balcony looking out over the skyline over lower Manhattan with candles and rose petals. He then hired an Omakase chef to come in and prepare us an 8-course meal so we could stay in and celebrate together.

What was your wedding style?

I think I would call our wedding style romantic, festive, and whimsical – I love the natural beauty of Colorado and wildflowers. Our venue had such a natural landscape with views of Beaver Creek and we tried to bring that feeling indoors with greenery and bright florals.

When it came to planning your wedding, what was most important to you?
We are huge foodies and we love nothing more than to eat with friends. Having an intimate wedding where we could spend quality time with all our guests and amazing food and beverage service was the most important thing to us.

What made you choose Aspen & Ivy as your Colorado wedding planners?

We loved Casey and then Jen from the start. They felt like a natural fit for us and had worked with some vendors we already had an eye on. Jen grew up near my hometown in Florida so we hit off right from the start. Her personality made it so easy to talk to her and brainstorm ideas. She was also great with advice on what she knew would work well and what might be more difficult. Their vendor relationships were also top-notch. We can’t say enough good things about the vendor selection process and the quality of vendors they introduced us to.

If you could provide a tip to another couple planning their Colorado wedding, what would it be?

We got married fast in 7 months because we were eager to start a life together. It can be overwhelming at times, but take the planning in strides – Aspen & Ivy did a fantastic job helping us space out the decisions and making sure we made one when we needed to.

When it came to your venue selection, why did you choose to get married there?

Beano’s Cabin is an iconic restaurant in Vail Valley and the food and beverage service is the best of the best. The team on-site worked with us to customize every part of our day and make it the most memorable. Our guests still talk about how great the food was and how intimate the space felt.

Where did you order your favors, party gifts, etc. from?

We decided to spend our money on the food, so we didn’t do gifts but we did buy light up wands with our name and wedding date on them for the grand exit which many people took home to their little ones. Jen also helped us source Topo Chico (the Groom’s fave) and pedestals for the place cards. We found place cards that were wildflower seeds so each guest could take them home and grow a memory of Colorado.

Where did you say “yes” to the dress, and what designer did you wear?

Staying true to my love of New York, my dress was by Alexandra Grecco who hand-makes all gowns in the city. I bought my dress from a wonderful salon in Tribeca called Lovely Bride.

Where were the bridesmaids’ dresses purchased from?

My bridesmaids’ dresses were from Anthropologie’s Beholden line.
