Taylor & Dane’s Boho Wedding in the Rocky Mountains
Love has a way of finding us when we least expect it, and for Taylor and Dane, their love story began with a serendipitous encounter at Colorado State University and lead to an elegant mountain wedding at Vista View Events. We had the privilege of working with them and got to see first hand their authenticity and zest for life. The modern barn at Vista View Events was the perfect setting to celebrate their love for one another as it embodies the balance between rustic and contemporary, which Taylor fondly described as “country, but not too country”!
We reached out to Taylor after the wedding to get her perspective and hear about her favorite parts. Here’s what she had to say!
How did you meet Dane?
Dane and I met at CSU through mutual friends at a party. It was not love at first sight but when Dane has his mind set on things he accomplishes it every time.
How did Dane pop the question?
Dane surprised me on a very normal Friday after work. He told me the power was out which was normal at the time as we were in a new build and dealing with power issues. His strategy behind this was to get me to go through the front door so he could guide my path with roses, and candles down our hallway and to our basement. When I got to the basement he had music playing and he was on one knee with our dog, Finn, surrounded by candles, rose petals and bouquets of flowers. Finn had a sign around his neck that said will you marry me? I could barely control myself and fell to my knees sobbing with happy tears before I could make it over to him. Of course, my answer was yes, yes, and yes!
What was your wedding style?
Neutral, easy, and natural – just how we wanted it.
When it came to planning your wedding, what was most important to you?
Being ourselves and enjoying every minute of the process!
What made you choose our company?
Our interview with Casey. We had interviewed many companies and not one of them was a natural connection like the call we had with her!
If you could provide a tip to another couple planning their wedding, what would it be?
To enjoy it, and work with people you trust. Don’t be afraid to say no if it’s not what you like.
When it came to your venue selection, why did you choose to get married there?
We liked Vista View Events because it was far away, and it was a mixture of both Dane and me. It was in a barn so had just enough country for Dane and A TON of neutral tons and sleek accents which I loved.
What was the best part of your wedding day?
Gosh honestly what wasn’t?! We loved every second of it. We look back all the time and are so grateful for the day we had and the people surrounding us.
Where did you say “yes” to the dress, and what designer did you wear?
I bought my dress at Little White Dress and it was made by the absolute BEST designer – Galia Lahav.
Where were the bridesmaids’ dresses purchased from?
My bridesmaids’ dresses were from Revelry.
